RPW SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
What is Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave Therapy is a treatment that applies a series of high-energy percussions or physical shocks (radial pulse waves) to an affected area of the body. This treatment accelerates the body’s natural healing process. Shockwave therapy stimulates the body’s metabolism and enhances blood circulation, which enables damaged tissue to regenerate and heal.
Innovative and Effective
Therapeutic shock waves were introduced as a medical treatment for eliminating kidney stones 20 years ago. A shockwave is an intense, but acoustic wave travelling faster than the speed of sound. Today Shockwave technology is used on millions of people around the world to treat a wide range of mus-culoskeletal, neurological and soft tissue disorders. Treatment sessions last no more than 30 minutes and provide successful rapid relief of chronic pain and restores mobility.
How does Shockwave Therapy work?
During shockwave therapy, high energy acoustic waves are applied directly to affected tissue areas through mechanical pulses, where they are transmitted through the surface of the skin. These waves spread radially into the body, causing an increased metabolic response in the surrounding area, where your pain has been experienced. This metabolic response works to stimulate and accelerate the healing process in that area. Mechanic pulses cause scar tissue and calcification to break down, which continues to provokes metabolic activity and healing.
